Amp Fiddler’s musical connections and legacy are rich indeed. From his early years as keyboardist for George Clinton’s Funkadelic, to his work as mentor to J Dilla, numerous collaborations and his vast solo catalogue; Amp’s connections helped form the shape of modern soul music, funk and hip hop as we know it today.
This exhibition, however, celebrates a perhaps less obvious connection :- the link between designer and musician.
Illustrator and designer Mitchy Bwoy has worked with Amp on numerous projects and releases over the last 20 years. This particular body of work is from the ‘Waltz of a Ghetto Fly’ album project from 2001. It is a tribute show of globally well traveled & vintage pieces from Mitchy’s personal archive. From exhibitions in Miami, Puerto Rico, Berlin and more - each piece has its own individual journey (with perhaps a few scars) and story to tell.
