Black Is... (DJs)
>>TICKETS<<
Welcome to our first Black Is... gathering in london.
Black Is... a gender-inclusive platform that began in Berlin in 2023 & in Amsterdam in 2024. Its sole goal is championing BIPOC DJs, dancers & promoters who find it difficult to find spaces + opportunities to perform (& just BE) in their local scenes.
We strive to showcase new voices, & celebrate established ones with an essential statement to make, on & off the dance floor, unrestricted by genres.
We aim to achieve this through hosting parties, social clubs, workshops, talks & in the future: an agency.
We are ecstatic to bring this project to London, a city that influenced us musically, as well as personally. The musicality in the city has always inspired us, & it's very special to be able to host upcoming local voices that will be adding to it now & in the future.
We are also very fortunate to have a space in filly brook, a beautiful venue in east london with an intimate room powered by a wonderfully warm sound system to bring this idea to life.
Hosted by MOE alongside guests DREY & SANOY, two incredible djs that we’ve discovered over the past years. Together we’ll be sharing & celebrating black music from across the sonic spectrum.
A note:
Our goal is to showcase BIPOC voices & create more inclusive safe spaces for them, on both sides of the dance floor. While our focus is highlighting them, we want to emphasise that everyone is welcome to join us in sharing these spaces. We just ask you to be mindful of what we are building towards, & for who.
A good gathering is a team effort & only truly works if we're all welcoming & make a pointed effort to treat each other with respect, kindness & joy.
Let's create bright moments together.
